Day 1 - God cares and God provides!

Based on recent events in the community, we were hopeful to get 20-30 kids to attend VBS. It was scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. however, the first child arrived at 10:00 a.m. By 1:00 p.m. we had over 60 kids registered....final count was 92. GOD IS GREAT!

The afternoon was filled with music, games, skits and snacks. The team, especially the kids did a fantastic job of stepping up to the plate and doing whatever needed to be done. It was so fulfilling to see the Southend kids interact and have so much fun with the Messiah kids.

We came in with a structured plan for the day and quickly learned that importance of flexibility as we adapted our schedule to fit the needs of the kids. We have learned that these kids come and go as they please.

The day was exciting, overwhelming and challenging all at the same time. The rewards were smiles, hugs and sharing the love of Jesus with these precious children.

As we learned in the lesson, God cares and God provides. He provided 92 kids for us to share His word with.
